Visit the San Felipe de Neri Church in Old Town
One of the many reasons to visit the charming streets of Old Town Albuquerque is to admire the historic architecture of the buildings here. Nowhere is that more true than the San Felipe de Neri Church.
Though the San Felipe de Neri Parish has been the sacred heart of Old Town Albuquerque for more than 300 years, the current church was constructed in 1793. Though many of the buildings in this area have been destroyed over the years, the church still stands strong and is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Though the building is predominantly constructed in the more traditional old adobe-style architecture, it has been renovated over the years and also features various Victorian and Gothic elements. It’s a true testament to time and very worth the visit, even if you aren’t Catholic.
The San Felipe de Neri Parish is open to the public daily from 10 am – 4 pm, with masses taking place earlier in the mornings on Sunday.
