Is the Bottger Mansion of Old Town suitable for your small Albuquerque wedding?
location
The wedding ceremony is performed outside in our lovely front yard in nice weather. The ceremony is very brief, and no chairs are provided. In the event a wedding guest is unable to stand for 10-15 minutes, a chair can be provided. If the weather is too cold, too warm or a sudden storm comes up, the wedding ceremony will be held the living room. Please note that these are common use areas for all of our overnight guests. If you have not reserved the entire mansion, other guests may pass through these areas. Every effort will be made to maintain the privacy of your wedding ceremony.
number of people
Please bring no more than 10 people including the bride and groom and the photographer. If the wedding needs to be indoors, our living room can hold no more than 10 people.
2-night minimum stay
A minimum stay of two nights is required for our wedding packages. The first night is the night before the wedding, with the wedding taking place the next day. Your room will then be available for your use all day for dressing, photos, etc.
What’s included in the wedding package?
This wedding package includes the bridal bouquet and groom’s boutonniere, a small wedding cake, the ceremony and one hour for photos in the house and the yard.
Dinner after your Albuquerque wedding?
If you would like to host a dinner after your wedding, several of the restaurants in Old Town can accommodate a group. We recommend High Noon Restaurant and Saloon, Seasons Rotisserie & Grill, and Lescombes Winery & Bistro. Please contact these restaurants directly to make arrangements.
non-religious service
The wedding ceremony is non-religious. If you would prefer a religious ceremony, please make arrangements with your own priest, pastor or officiant to perform the ceremony. This does not reduce the price of the wedding. The ceremony should be limited to no more than 30 minutes.
witnesses
You will need two witnesses present at the ceremony. If you do not have witnesses and need us to provide them for you, you should plan to pay each witness $100.
cake
You may choose from a variety of cake flavors and fillings. The frosting will be white buttercream with decorations. You may choose the cake flavor options when the wedding is scheduled.
flowers
Flowers for the bridal bouquet and boutonniere are roses, and you may choose white, red, pink, or yellow. Any substitution of flowers will be an extra charge for the difference in price, particularly for exotic or out-of-season flowers.
champagne
We are not permitted to provide champagne. You may bring your own and we can provide glasses and corkscrews.
deposit and balance due
A deposit of 50% of the room rate will be charged upon making the reservation. The balance due for the room and wedding will be charged 7 days before the wedding date. If the wedding is canceled less than 7 days before the scheduled wedding date, the fee for the wedding may be forfeited as a cancellation fee. The room deposit will be refunded if another guest re-books all room nights; the refund will be subject to a cancellation fee of $25 or 10%, whichever is greater.
parking
Your wedding guests may use any non-reserved paid parking spaces in the public lot across the street. Our reserved spaces are for the use of our registered overnight guests.
Do you need a different location?
If the Bottger Mansion of Old Town is not quite the right place for your Albuquerque wedding, here are some other options:
Old Town gazebo on the Plaza
The gazebo on Old Town Plaza may be rented for weddings for $250 for two hours, plus a per-chair rental fee for the number of your guests. This cost includes set-up and removal of the chairs. You may decorate the gazebo and railings as you wish for your Albuquerque wedding. This is a nice option for a larger number of guests at a very reasonable cost. Contact the Cultural Services Department for more information and availability.
City parks and facilities
You may also wish to consider other city parks and facilities, such as the South Broadway Cultural Center, which may be rented for weddings and events. These may also be scheduled through the Cultural Services Department.
Albuquerque Botanical Garden
The Albuquerque Botanical Garden has a number of locations within the park for a lovely wedding. The vine-covered colonnade is very beautiful, and it would work well for a larger number of guests. It’s next to the ceremonial garden filled with roses.
