4 Albuquerque day trips that you’ll love

1. Santa Fe

Santa Fe is only an hour from Albuquerque and is a must-visit Southwest city! The capital of New Mexico boasts plenty of history, culture, and world-renowned art. Some attractions in Santa Fe we highly recommend are Canyon Road, the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis, and the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum.

2. New Mexico Hot Springs

Take a dip and relax in New Mexico’s natural mineral springs. These hot springs have revitalizing and healing qualities. About an hour outside of Albuquerque, you’ll find Jemez Springs, San Antonio Hot Springs, and Spence Hot Springs. It’s a bit of a drive, but we guarantee that the journey is well worth it. The scenery is spectacular!

3. Bandelier National Monument

Bandelier National Monument is a historic area with ancient artifacts and thousands of acres of canyons and mesas. While hiking, you can climb into the cliff dwellings and see petroglyph carvings. Hike some great trails at Bandelier National Monument. Look for wildlife along the way! “Take nothing but pictures and leave nothing but footprints.”

4. Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument

Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument has many cone-shaped rock formations made by volcanic eruptions nearly 7 million years ago! The leftover pumice, ash, and tuff deposits created the structures we see today. Boulder caps perch on many of the tapering hoodoos, while protecting the softer formations below. Located 70 minutes from Albuquerque, this national monument is an adventure you’ll never forget.
