Cinco de Mayo kicks off the summer fiesta season in Albuquerque, and there are lots of events to attend–pick the one that you like best. All of these events are on Saturday, May 5th. Albuquerque loves to throw a party, so you can enjoy live music, food, drinks, art, fireworks and dancing. Here are six ways to have a great time no matter which one you choose.
Cinco de Mayo Folk Art Fest in the North Valley
Saturday, May 5, 2018 10 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

11th Annual Cinco de Mayo Folk Art Fest with Guest Artists Tami Sioux (Seattle) repurposed antique silverware jeweler, Jerry Montoya (Grants) Tin Repujado, and Bottle Cap Queen Goldie Garcia Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, NM.
Back for another exciting year, local artists Kenny Chavez and David Fisher, present in collaboration with Farm & Table and La Parada Mercantile, the 11th Annual Cinco de Mayo Folk Art Fest, Saturday, May 5 from 10 am – 4 pm. This FREE event is open to the public and will take place at Farm & Table/La Parada, located at 8917 4th St. NW, south of Alameda on 4th Street.
In addition to the guest artists, 40 other local arts and crafts vendors will be selling unique gifts and one-of-a-kind treasures throughout the day, including jewelry, paintings, recycled art, arts and crafts, the Sol Harvest Farm stand, door prizes at La Parada, festival food from Farm and Table Restaurant (10-2:00), a serape contest, live music and a DJ.
Farm & Table will be open for normal brunch hours (9 am – 2 pm).
Parking: Note, in addition to parking at Farm & Table, attendees to the Folk Art Fest will be permitted to park along 4th Street adjacent to the restaurant as well as across the street on the east side of 4th Street.
Cinco de Mayo celebration at the South Broadway Cultural Center

For a family-friendly Cinco de Mayo celebration, go to the South Broadway Cultural Center for a celebration starting with arts and crafts for kids (12-1:00 p.m.), dancing featuring Ballet Folklorico Fiesta Mexicana (1-2:00 p.m.) and the movie “Selena” at 2:15 p.m. (Get a sitter for the kids and enjoy more adult entertainment later in the evening–see other events below!)

Enjoy the music of ” Mariachi Tradicional” 7-9:00 p.m. at the gazebo on the Plaza at Old Town. The first Mariachis de Nuevo Mexico game will be a Cinco de Mayo celebration, an ideal night to debut the team’s new identity. A post-game fireworks extravaganza choreographed to mariachi music will finish off the night, presented by Rio Metro RTD and New Mexico Rail Runner Express.
That Friday will also be Little League Night at the ballpark with gates opening early at 5:00 p.m.
