Everyone is looking for things to do in Albuquerque for Valentine’s Day. And this year you have even more time to fit in something special. Valentine’s Day is on Friday, February 14th, so you also have Saturday, Sunday and Monday, February 17th if you have a day off for President’s Day! Of course, the usual gifts–chocolate and flowers–are great, and dinner is nearly always in the plan.
How about taking in a really special event this year? Why not have dinner or a show someplace you’ve never been? You can expand your horizons with your someone special with museum exhibits, comedy open mic night, a walking tour in a part of town you’ve never explored, painting or dance workshops, a live concert, a brewery tours, or even board games. Friends and Lovers Balloon Rally, (free) February 7-9, 8:00 a.m. Enjoy a hot air balloon festival on a smaller scale at this free event with a Valentine theme. Indulge in the food at the festival or take your sweetie out for brunch or lunch afterward. Balloon Fiesta Park

We all perk up when we get to try something new. Don’t be afraid–dive right in! You can learn international folk dancing (no experience required!), or salsa. Try The Liars’ Game at Empire Board on each 2nd Monday or play new board games any time and make some new friends. Attend comedy open mic night, visit a special museum exhibit, take a walking tours (murals, art, historic, ghost or creepy), or go to a live concert. You’ll be glad you got out of your usual routine!
