4 things to do at the Albuquerque Biological Park

1. Biopark Zoo

Visitors of all ages will love the multitude of different mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians that live in the ABQ BioPark Zoo.  Watch animals like orangutans, polar bears, and tigers play or exercise. You can also view a variety of colorful birds fluttering around in their spacious habitats.  If snakes and alligators intrigue you, be sure to visit the Reptile House where you can observe all types of cold-blooded creatures. You’ll also have the opportunity to see some adorable baby animals since Albuquerque Zoo participates in breeding programs with other zoos.

2. Biopark Aquarium

This Albuquerque aquarium takes visitors on an aquatic journey they won’t soon forget. You’ll see water critters from the Rio Grande all the way to the Gulf of Mexico including a kaleidoscope of colorful fish,  eels, sea turtles, and more. The popular Shark Reef Cafe provides delicious food and a wonderful view of the 280,000-gallon oceanic tank, providing a truly unforgettable dining experience.

3. Botanic Garden

See numerous types of vibrant plants and flowers in bloom at the popular ABQ Biopark Botanic Garden.  This attraction boasts all sorts of displays and exhibits, from an Old World Walled Garden to the Children’s Fantasy Garden.  Watch as dragonflies dart around the Dragonfly Sanctuary Pond or beautiful butterflies float around the Butterfly Pavilion. Concerts and other entertainment events are hosted here as well, so stay up-to-date with the City of Albuquerque events calendar so you don’t miss the next big festival.

4. Tingley Beach

With three fishing ponds, a model boat pond, and walking trails, Tingley Beach is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy a peaceful retreat into nature. This is one of our favorite spots to enjoy a relaxing waterside picnic or a paddleboat ride during the summer!
