The Gathering of Nations was created 35 years ago to bring together Native Americans from around the country. Since then, it has grown steadily over the years and become the largest pow-wow in North America. The participants create a warm, welcoming environment that draws thousands of people every year.  More activities have also been added to the event throughout the years. These include a regalia parade, a Miss Indian World pageant, and a market area with Native American arts, crafts and foods. The Gathering of Nations events begin on Thursday, April 25th and continue into Saturday, April 27th. The festival will be hosted at the Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  Advance tickets for this event can be ordered online.

Gathering of Nations 2019 kicks off Thursday evening with the amazing Miss Indian World Traditional Talent Presentations.  Friday’s festivities begin bright and early with some spirited performances followed by drum and dancing competitions after lunch.  Friday evening continues with competitive dances, including a dance competition by the Miss Indian World contestants, and the Horse & Rider Regalia Parade. These performances and competitions continue through Saturday, finishing with award presentations and the crowning of Miss Indian World. The announcement of the winners of each competition will also be made at this time.  Throughout the entire event, artists and traders offer their gorgeous handmade crafts and foods.  Immerse yourself in music and Native American cultures from all over the world!
